Itinerary - Part 1

    Hi! We are about to board our flight to Shanghai at Chicago-Ohare. Here is Part 1 of our Itinerary - more to come! Hoping for safe and uneventful flight (esp after I spilled my entire cup of coffee into Eliana's travel bag on the first flight and we had a meltdown during landing because she had to go potty - thank goodness for Pullups in case of emergency)!!!!

  • Thursday Jan 28 - 6am flight from Dulles to Chicago on United, change planes for 10am flight to Shanghai, cross the International date line and 'lose a day' in the air

  • Friday Jan 29 - Arrive in Shanghai, Check in Renaissaance YuYuan

  • Sat Jan 30 - Tour Shanghai - YuYuan gardens, the Bund, Pearl TV tower, etc

  • Sun Jan 31 - Morning flight to Wuhan, Hubei province where Maya Mei lives (CZ3824 08:50-10:20). Check into Renaissance Wuhan and get to know the area around the hotel. Rest!

  • Monday Feb 1st - 'Gotcha' Day/Meeting Day - Meet Maya Mei at Civil Affairs office, do some paperwork, come back to the hotel and get to know each other! Maybe visit a store to get whatever she needs

  • Tues Feb 2nd - Adoption Day - more paperwork, apply for Mei Mei's Chinese passport

  • Wed Feb 3rd - Touring around Wuhan: Yellow Crane Tower, East Lake Park, and more

  • Thurs Feb 4th - Visit Wuhan Children's Welfare Institute. Tour Temple of Guiyuan Si.

  • Fri Feb 5th - Pick up passport. Fly from Wuhan to Guangzhou (CZ367/ 18:00-19:30)

  1. I can't believe you spilled the coffee, why couldn't you have spilled it on the pull-up? That would have absorbed it. I am already in refresh mode...checking every few hours, clearly I am screwed now b/c you are over Montana at the moment or something out there and it's going to be a while before I see anything more. Hold on to ALL of your liquids Cohns, and Grandma!! Laurie

  3. Thanks for sending out your link. It is so much fun to watch families ahead of where we are. We will be adopting a 5 year old girl, so I especially like watching stories like yours.
